Piano Teacher Anna Rott

I passionately believe that any person can benefit from the life-enriching study of music!
This the one and the only reason why I became a piano teacher.
When I decided to set-up my own studio on Australia's NSW Central Coast in 2011 and started to tell my friends and people I knew about it, the most frequent response I heard was: "I wish I could play piano now...", or "I had piano lesson as a kid, but stopped too early...", or even "I stopped because my teacher was so mean, she slapped my hands when I made a mistake, I hated her and the piano..."!
Sounds familiar?
Fortunately, it was different for me! I studied with three very different and very inspirational teachers: they brought me up musically, they loved me, gave me all their time and knowledge, brought me candies, stood by my side when the going got tough but never, I repeat, never gave up on me. It all turned out great.
I would not be where I am today if it was not for my tutors, and, of course, my parents. Did I still wish to quit playing as a student? Many times! Did I ever get to a point where I hated music? Absolutely never!
I learned that it takes patience to get my scales right, perseverance to master those easy-to-listen-to-but-impossible-to-play passages, and I learned to be proud of myself when standing on the stage in front of many people after a successful performance. I learned all of that and more from and with my passionate and patient teachers.
I will stop here. My professional life story is long enough to write a book, and I will be happy to tell you the relevant bits when you choose to visit my studio. But the important part is that now, many years later, I wish and I strive to be that kind of inspiring, motivating and positive teacher and mentor to my students every lesson, all the time.
I don't claim to be perfect. I use what I know, research what I do not know, I am on the constant look out to the new methods, approaches, I adapt my teaching style to the way the student learns while staying focused on one main goal: give the students the gift and love of music for life, so that they, many years later can say to you: "Thank you, Mom and Dad, for finding me my awesome piano teacher!"
